BECCA Highlighters

Happy Friday!!!

So, if y'all been following my youtube channel then you may know that BECCA cosmetics has slowly made its way into my little heart. So far everything that I've tried from this line besides the ultimate coverage complexion creme foundation has been phenomenal. I believe this foundation made me break out so after a couple of days of use I gave up on it. But other than that my experience with this makeup line has been on point.

Today I will be showing you the three highlighter's that I have from this line that have completely turned me into a BECCA highlighter junkie.

Becca cosmetics offers highlighters in liquid form and pressed form as well. The liquid is a sheer cream, but can be built to disco ball status quickly. When used in moderation this highlighter can easily perfect the skin with light reflecting pearls, providing a beautiful natural glow. They melt beautifully into the skin, leaving your skin naturally radiant and will adjust in any light.

I like to use this in conjunction with my foundation. I will mix both products into a mixing plate, or the back of my hand and with my foundation brush blend it in. I have to be careful when mixing it with my foundation though because I have an oily t-zone, if I apply it there it can easily emphasize my oiliness. If you do not like this method it can be also used on its own and applied to the high points of your face. Such as the tops of your cheekbones in a c motion to the tops of your eyebrows. On your cupids bow to enhance your upper lip. And if you don't have an oily t-zone it can also be applied down the bridge of your nose, forehead, and chin. I personally like to avoid these areas, but you can obviously do as you please. These liquid highlighters come at a hefty price of $41.00 with 1.7oz. Five shades are offered in the liquid form. Pearl, moonstone which is a pale gold. Opal is a golden opal pearl. Topaz is a golden bronze pearl. And last you have rose gold which is a golden rosy pink. In my opinion they are totally worth every penny. If you don't want to spend $41 on a single product, they also offer moonstone and opal in travel sizes for $19.00 and you get 0.68oz.

The other two highlighters that I have are in the pressed form. They basically work the same way as the liquid in the aspect that you can apply them on the highest points of your face. I would not recommend using these in conjunction with your foundation. I simply don't see it feasible. These powders are very creamy in consistency and provide the same beautiful luminiscent, natural glow as the liquid does. They are very finely milled and when blended out, they melt beautifully into the skin. They also adjust to your skin's natural undertones providing a uniquely glow. The powders are a little less than the liquid. You get 0.28oz at $38.00 each. They also come in five shades but instead of pearl which is offered in the liquid form you get champagne gold which is a soft warm gold. Champagne gold is the next one on my list. haha And these do not come in travel size.

NARS Audacious Lipstick Review

Hey y'all and Happy Friday!!!

So if y'all saw my NARS Audacious lipstick video on my channel then you already know how obsessed I am with these lipsticks. I decided to add a blog post to accompany that video so you can see the colors and swatches on my lips and arm a little better.

I purchased mine through Sephora. There are forty shades in the collection but ten are exclusive to Barney's. They are $32 a lipstick and you get 0.14oz. These are a permanent formula so you don't have to worry about it disappearing after a certain amount of time (limited edition). Yes to that, and hopefully they NEVER get discontinued because we all know makeup companies always discontinue the great products. haha

Can I just say how amazing these lipsticks are. They are saturated in color and the texture is ultra soft. The finish is more like a satin. They are not matte and certainly no shimmer or gloss like to it. These lipsticks have great color payoff and feel very creamy on the lips. They did not moisturize my lips by no means, but they did not dry them out either. They did however leave a stain on my lips when they started to wear off along the five hour mark. When they did wear off, they wore off evenly, it was not choppy or anything like that.

And I must say, the consistency did not change. All four lipsticks remained constant. They all performed the same way, lasted the same amount of time, glided on the lips the same, all of them were highly pigmented and all had the same satin finish.

Raquel: pinky beige
Brigitte: nude rose

A Typical Fall Outfit

Good Morning y'all

Welcome back, so today's blog is a typical outfit of the day for me when it comes to fall. You all know how much I love my jeans, so nothing has changed there. And like I've said before you can totally dress up or dress down an outfit with your accessories.

For today's look I decided to wear my beautiful inexpensive boots from Wal-Mart. Yes y'all!!! I said Wal-Mart. Not everything has to be expensive to look chic. I believe in high low. A few high end pieces, and a few low end pieces. If you can afford higher end products, by all means rock them. But you don't have to be decked out in super duper expensive outfits to look amazing.

...alrighty, let's get started.

So, with the chilling temperatures we've been having here, you definitely want to make sure you have a comfy coat. Mine is from Guess but, I did not pay full price for it. I bought mine from the Guess outlet. If y'all have outlets near you, you should definitely give them a try because you can find great and affordable pieces.

My top is dolman style from Target. I really like wearing this style of top because they're a little flared and flowy that allows you to feel comfortable and not all sucked in. My jeans are from Express, as per usual. This is the skinny legging style, perfect for tucking them inside the boots. On this day I was at the park with my daughter so I needed a pair of sunglasses, mine are from Ray-Ban. If y'all follow my YouTube channel then you know how obsessed I am about spf and protecting your skin, specifically when you're outdoors. I highly recommend a good pair of sunglasses that protects your eyes from uva's and uvb's. And of course if you're a little vain like myself, slow down the crows feet process. Bahaha!!!

My watch is Michael Kors and the bracelet is from Cookie Lee.

The necklace is from Etsy, it's called the Kameli necklace. I've featured most of these products in my YouTube channel. If you want to get a better feel on these products feel free to head on over there. http://www.youtube.com/makeupbymarcelar

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Black leather pants

Hey y'all, and happy Friday!!!

So about a week or so ago my husband and I had date night. We hadn't had date night in a really long time so I was super stoked. I remember asking him what should I wear because I knew he was taking me out to dinner, I just didn't know what restaurant. He said whatever you wear just don't dress like a grandma... Haha!!! Y'all  know my fashion, it's usually a pair of jeans, flats, and cute accessories, so I guess that's grandma-ish (for him). I personally don't think I dress like a grandma. I guess what he meant to say is wear something sexy.

Anyway, I wanted to dress up and look sexy and fierce for myself as well because these date nights are few and very far in between. I knew I didn't want to wear a tight fitting dress because I am a foodie and when I over eat my belly blows up like a balloon....bwahaha. Which by the way, I'm so glad I didn't because we went to Brasa. If y'all are not familiar with Brasa, it's a Brasilian restaurant where it's kind of like buffet style and tons of meat. Which can only mean... I over ate.

I chose this outfit for the occasion.

If you follow my videos on my YouTube channel www.youtube.com/makeupbymarcelar then you've seen my jacket and pants in my fall essentials video.

The jacket is from Wilson's Leather, the pants are from H&M, my top is from Forever21 and my shoes are from Baker's.

This outfit is so fierce and bad ass I felt young and fearless with it. Not to mention, my husband loved it. So it was a win win for me. I believe everyone no matter the age should own a pair of black leather pants and a leather jacket. Trust me, it will change the way you feel about yourself when you're wearing it.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Review

Good Morning y'all!!!

So you all know how much I love the hourglass ambient lighting powders. I have the same love affair for the hourglass ambient lighting blushes. I don't own the entire collection like I do with the powders, but the two that I do have I LOVE!!! I will leave a link below of my hourglass ambient lighting powders review on my youtube channel.

I purchased mine through Sephora, but there are other stores you can pick them up from.  Each blush contains 0.15oz of product at $35 a pop. Pretty hefty but definitely worth it. I would not recommend something so expensive if I didn't think it was worth your money.

So each blush is basically a hybrid of the ambient lighting powder with a specific blush color to go with. Each blush uses a photoluminescent technology which allows the blush to provide a beautiful soft focus look versus a flat matte look.

There are six colors in the collection, and they are all worthy of purchasing because no two colors look alike. They deliver an all over natural radiant, natural finish, and are easily buildable and blendable.  I can't speak for all 6 shades, but the 2 that I have are super soft and finely milled. You do have to be very gentle though when dipping your brush into it because they do provide some kick up. I like to use them in conjunction with my ambient lighting powders, but you definitely don't need to. You can achieve a beautiful "glow from with in" by simply using the blushes on its own. But if you do decide to use them together like I do, they surely enhance the look of your skin.

Here are the 6 colors
Dim Infusion: light peach with dim light to add warmth
Diffused Heat: coral with diffused light for a subtle halo effect
Luminous Flush: rose with luminous light for a candle lit glimmer
Radiant Magenta: fuchsia with radiant light for a summer glow
Mood Exposure: soft plum with mood light to brighten the complexion
Ethereal Glow: cool tone pink with ethereal light for a moonlit luminosity

They are paraben free, fragrance free, nano-particle free, no talc, and gluten free. And not tested on animals.

I absolutely adore these blushes and when I get the chance I will definitely be picking up some more.

Maxi Dress

Happy Hump Day!!!

I wanted to finish off the summer with a beautiful maxi dress I picked up in my recent trip to Miami.  Apparently when I was in Miami I was in a black and white kick. I noticed when I got home 95% of the clothes I picked up were black and white.

Maxi dresses are so easy breezy, no non sense, casual, but elegant all in one. What I love most about this dress is the high low cut and the neck line. You can also cinch it at the waist, providing the illusion of a smaller waist. Maxi dresses are a great investment for your wardrobe. This dress can go from spring to summer to fall by simply changing your shoes, and/or adding a blazer. For today's look I paired it with a beautiful pair of Vince Camuto sandals. I featured them in my August favorites video. If you're interested in seeing that video I will leave a link below.

Another easy breezy factor to this look is my handbag. I styled it with a cross body Coach handbag I picked up at the Orlando outlet. I love large handbags, nobody loves a large handbag more than I do. The larger the better is my motto. But when it comes to comfortability, this is it for me.
