Dior Addict Fluid Stick Review

Happy Thursday y'all!!!

So as you all may or may not know Dior launched a new lip product for the Spring 2014 collection. As a lip junkie, I was lusting over the Dior addict fluid sticks. They made their debut at my local Sephora May 2nd. Because I was waiting impatiently for these bad boys to make their appearance, as soon as they were released I made sure I was the first one there. Much to my surprise they were not displayed on the floor yet. The sales associate didn't even know what I was talking about. But I whipped out my handy dandy Sephora application, and showed her that it was available according to the website at my nearest Sephora. She went to the back to look, and ta-daaa... the angels starting singing. She then tells me that they don't have the testers out yet, but I said no worries, I know exactly which shade I want. I felt like a kid in a candy store. My son laughs at me because he says "you're silly mami, why do you get so excited over makeup?" Are you serious? How can you not. Specially after seeing these beauties.

They do come at a hefty price. Each fluid stick is $35.00 with 0.18 oz, which is why at the time I only came home with one. But after I put it on my lips, I knew I had to go back for more. There are 17 colors in the range, with one shade exclusive to Sephora. With so many colors in the collection I'm sure there will be a shade for you.

The packaging at first glance leads you to believe it' s a lipstick. But it's not, not this baby. It has the pigmentation of a lipstick, and the shine of a gloss. Think of it as a hybrid, two great products housed in one.

Upon application I felt a little cool sensation, but not like a plumping lip gloss, it just felt cool. It glided on my lips a little streaky, but I went over it again and the streaks were gone. It feels completely weight less on my lips. It may be due to the fact that they are water based and not wax. Upon application the water evaporates leaving your lips pigmented and glossy. They did feel though slightly tacky. Not tacky or sticky like a mac prolong wear sticky, but tacky like it's going to last a while on your lips tacky. On my lips it lasted a good three hours before I started seeing any fading.  It did settle into my fine lines, but honestly all my lipsticks/lip glosses do that, so it's not a con for me.

Overall, I am very impressed with these fluid sticks and I will go back for more. At least one more. I feel like I always have to have a peach, pink, nude and red.

If you do not mind paying $35 for a lipstick/lip gloss, or are a Dior addict then I highly recommend you pick these up, at least one.

So I obviously went back for more. Here are lip swatches of the four that I own. If you want to see them in action head on over to my YouTube channel. #makeupbymarcelar

I purchased the fluid sticks at Sephora with my own money and I am not affiliated in any way with Sephora or Dior.
